A Session of Guest Lecture to the Students of B.A.LL.B 5th Semester

All students of B.A.LL.B 5th semester are informed that there will be a two-hour session on “Advocating Chain of Custody and Digital Governance in Nepal” for them as per the following details.

Resource persons: Ms. Ojaswi K.C. and Mr. Prajwol Bickram Rana [Human Rights Officers at HRJC]

Event Date & Time: 24 June 2024, Monday; Time: 7:00 AM Onwards (at Seminar Hall)

Objectives of the Event:

To raise awareness of the legal framework surrounding digital evidence, including the
National Criminal Procedure Code (2017), Evidence Act (1977), and Privacy Act
(2018), and identify the existing loopholes within it;

  • To address the issue of chain of custody in digital evidence preservation, with a focus
    on Nepal;
  • To establish the intersections of human rights considerations in matters of digital
    evidence under criminal law;
  • To study the impact of this issue on marginalized communities, especially the Dalit
    community;
  • To facilitate meaningful conversations within the academic circle of the college;
  • To motivate students in initiatives that protect the integrity of criminal investigations
    and uphold the rule of law;
  • To advocate for reform through academic discourse with the students.
